As someone with Irish heritage, I’m a bit unnerved that America’s reign of “white privilege” has meant the overlooking or erasing a lot of the troubling things my ancestors did or experienced.

True, the highest estimates put the number at only around 50,000, but considering the relative size of the Black population in German controlled Europe at the time, that was a proportionately huge number.

Unfortunately, I must now quote Mein Kampf:

So, it’s not like Hitler just got bored and decided to stick Black folk into the camps as well, they were as much a part of his “vision” from the start as the Jews were. He specifically stated in 1932, before he was legally elected, that should he gain power he would either deport all Black Germans back to Africa, or round them up in Concentration Camps. That was one of his campaign promises.

we weren’t oppressed for being white, we were oppressed for being Irish and because they wanted our land.
